Do you have wrinkles between your brows? Do your friends and family members ask if you're frustrated or upset even when you're not? If so, Dysport, a specialized neurotoxin injectable with the ability to temporarily erase these common signs of aging, may be of benefit to you.
No one wants frown lines to define their face, but many of us develop these annoying wrinkles as we age before we realize it. Dysport Boston is a neurotoxin that softens moderate to severe frown lines for up to four months, giving you a more youthful appearance.
Skin Deep Med Spa offers Boston, MA patients Dysport injections, a non-invasive skin resurfacing procedure that removes the outer layer of dead skin, leaving your skin looking younger, brighter, and healthier.
If you live in Boston and are looking for the best Dysport treatment available, we encourage you to contact us at Skin Deep Med Spa to schedule a consultation and begin your journey to healthier-looking skin today.
Some facial lines and frown lines are caused by the muscles beneath the skin pulling on the skin too tightly, causing creases. Our skin is supple and elastic enough during our younger years and it stays smooth despite the pull of these muscles.
The effects of these muscles, however, produce creases as we age and our skin loses its elasticity. Dysport fillers work by weakening these muscles, allowing wrinkle-causing tension to be released.
During your consultation, your injection specialist will determine how many units you will require and will inform you of the cost before your Boston Dysport treatments begin.
The final results vary for all patients, but Dysport injections usually last 4-5 months after each Dysport treatment.
Touch-up injection sessions, additional anti-aging products, and Dysport treatments, good skin rejuvenation, and sun protection habits are all options for enhancing and prolonging your final results.
Here's an overview of what a typical Dysport treatment process entails:
Your doctor will meet with you before your first Dysport treatment to discuss your treatment goals. To ensure that this is right for you, he/she will examine your areas of concern and review your medical history. The treatment process will be discussed with you to give you an idea of what to expect in your specific situation.
We recommend that you keep the treatment area calm and free of irritation in order to prepare for your first appointment. Because this treatment is most commonly used between the brows, we ask patients to refrain from plucking, waxing, or otherwise removing hair from this area for at least one week prior to Dysport treatment to avoid irritation.
During your recovery, the most important thing to remember is to avoid touching the treated area for at least one week. This prevents the injected neurotoxin from accidentally spreading to other parts of your forehead, potentially resulting in partial facial muscle paralysis.
Within one week of Dysport treatment, you should see the final results. After your muscle activity is completely paralyzed, you can expect to have a similar experience for the next 4-5 months. Some patients have longer-lasting results, while others prefer to schedule follow-up appointments sooner in order to keep their results.
You can schedule your first follow-up appointment once your results start to fade to prevent your glabellar lines, frown lines, and other dynamic wrinkles from reappearing. Most Boston patients find that they only need two to three appointments per year to maintain their ideal image, thanks to the long-term results provided by this product.

Dysport is an injectable that paralyzes certain muscles in the forehead, preventing them from moving and forming facial wrinkles. It can also be used to soften forehead lines that have already formed over time.
Dysport is an FDA-approved treatment for moderate to severe glabellar lines, also known as frown lines between the brows. Dysport, like Botox, uses a botulinum type A to stop muscle movement.
So, what sets Dysport apart from Botox?
Both treatments work with botulinum type A, last the same amount of time, and eliminate pesky wrinkles. However, there are a few key distinctions.
One difference is that Dysport and Botox are measured differently, so a forehead that requires 50 Dysport units may only require 25 Botox units. Dysport has a tendency to spread, making it easier to treat larger areas such as the forehead with fewer injections. Dysport is not approved by the FDA to treat crow's feet or fine lines around the eyes, or forehead wrinkles, unlike Botox.
Botox and Dysport injections are both neurotoxins that are used to reduce wrinkles. They relax the muscles and prevent them from contracting when injected, so they don't react when you smile, laugh, or frown. This prevents the formation of wrinkles.
Although Botox and Dysport have a similar mechanism of action, the time it takes for each to take effect, as well as the amount required for effective treatment, can vary. Botox can take up to two weeks to fully take effect after the injection, though you should notice some results within 72 hours. For some patients, Dysport may have quicker effects.
Depending on the area treated and how much Botox is required to relax the muscle, the effects of Botox can last anywhere from three to six months. After about a year of Dysport treatments Boston, you can usually go longer between Dysport treatments because relaxing those muscles requires less effort.
Dysport is FDA-approved to last four months, but it can last up to six months depending on the individual, just like Botox.
The most noticeable difference between Botox and Dysport is the amount of treatment required. Because Dysport is more diluted than Botox, you'll get more dosage units if you use it.
Dysport also has a different reaction after injection, spreading to a larger area, whereas Botox stays close to the injection site. Dysport may be able to spread out more if treating a large region, such as the forehead, but Botox may be preferred for smaller areas, such as around the eyes.
